Will you have to break tiles?
Almost never. Blockages are cleared through the toilet, the trap or an access point. We only open anything if a pipe is broken, and we tell you first.
Several flats in my building have the same problem. Why?
Then the blockage is probably in the shared column or the building drain, which is usually the building administrator's responsibility. We can deal with them directly — see building drains.
Should I use a chemical drain cleaner first?
We advise against it. It rarely clears a real blockage, it can damage old pipes, and it is dangerous for whoever opens the trap afterwards. If you already used one, tell us when we arrive.
Can you come the same day?
In most cases, yes. When you call we give you a realistic arrival time.
